Agentic Cafe
A small working group for advanced agentic system builders
Agentic programming is moving quickly.
New tools, frameworks, and patterns show up every few months, and the most useful ideas aren't documented yet—they emerge while building real systems. This group is an attempt to learn faster by building things and sharing what we're learning with others doing the same.
How it works
Reading posts and watching demos only goes so far. The biggest gains come from trying to build something real, watching it fail in non-obvious ways, adjusting the design, and comparing notes with someone who's hit similar problems.
We'll meet online about once a week to talk through how things are built—not just what they produce. The agenda comes from what people are actually building. No curriculum, no content pipeline. If there's enough local interest, we may also meet in person.
Areas of focus
- Long-running or semi-autonomous agent workflows
- Custom commands, skills, and tooling (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode)
- Sub-agent orchestration and coordination
- Loop design, monitoring, and recovery
- Handling drift, context limits, and failure modes
- Keeping systems productive over hours instead of minutes
Who this is for
People already building in this space. You don't need to be an expert, but you should be past the basics—you've created or modified your own commands, experimented with multi-step agent setups, and you're learning primarily by building. The goal isn't exclusivity; it's keeping conversations useful and concrete.
Expect small group discussions (not presentations), honest talk about what's working and what isn't, and a steady feedback loop that helps you iterate faster. This is a working group, not a class or a product.
Interested?
I'm organizing this because the most valuable insights come from implementation details, and those rarely make it into public write-ups. This is an experiment to see if others would find it useful too.
If this sounds aligned with how you like to learn, share a bit about what you're working on. No commitment beyond the conversation.
